Lewis: At sunrise we set out. It rained in intervals until three in the afternoon. We passed many bad riffles
including Wilson's riffle. At this rifflewe had to channel through the gravel with spades and canoe paddles and drag the boat through. This took us about four hours. On the north-west shore I bought some potatoes and corn from a Yankee farmer in exchange for some lead. We came 20 miles today.
