Student Research Guide
for

Objectives

Students will:

  • Relate how certain technological discoveries have changed the course of history and will reflect on the broader social and environmental changes that can occur from the discovery of such technologies..
  • Evaluate the influence of discoveries, inventions, and innovations on economic interdependence.
  • Forecast how technology can be managed to have the greatest number of people enjoy the benefits.

Process

The media specialist will provide a 6-lesson look at research skills. Then, students will need to gather information from at least 3 sources and one of those three MUST be a website.

Time
Three Weeks

Products

Students will:

  • Research individual inventions and prepare a research report.
  • Report all basic information about their invention: who, what, when, where, and why.
  • Synthesize what they have read about the implications of the invention and come up with their own ideas.
