I am excited about the TLC. I plan on using the "Growing Up" link to make folders for my office pertaining to students' emotional needs. I think there is enough information on those pages to give me resources for many years to come. This website is great for teachers, but it has excellent resources for counselors as well. .

My 11th grade daughter has an assignment to take newspaper headlines from history and make a poster that reflects that era. We spent hours trying to link up to a good site without any luck. I remembered the TLC site and sent them an email telling them of my problem. By the next day I had an email back with 2 sites to go to and one of them was exactly what my daughter needed. .

Multiple Intelligences: I just reviewed the site and I am overwhelmed! This will be a valuable site not only for me, but for many of my colleagues who are trying to integrate this into our methodology of teaching! Thank you for being so responsive and for providing such valuable information! .

You truly have [created] what I had always dreamed of doing for our teachers and kids. I understand all the work that has to go on in the background to create this kind of a resource!! This site is a wonderful resource for teachers as well as students just using it for educationally sound websites for web research .
Shawnee Mission, Kansas

A teacher with several years of classroom experience was outlining a senior research project for students to research on the Web. He explained to his students they had 3 hours to complete their assignment on selecting a country in SE Asia:

    find a map
    find the language
    government
    famous people
    history
    on, and on

When he had finished with his students, I tapped him on the shoulder, and showed him how to complete his assignment using K12TLC. It took 15 seconds!

I use this example all the time now in my trainings. I make a BIG deal out of it and have someone time me. Fun, and it really gets the teachers involved. .

Whales: Thanks, this was fantastic. I was able to cut and paste the sites that would be useful to them on our Edline page (school internet site). Now the students can gather their information from any computer without a lot of wasted time. Very useful. Great job. Saved me a lot of time. .

Thank you for the opportunity to use your website. .

Holy Moly, JUST what I dreamed of – thank you so very much!!! I know our teachers will love having this at their fingertips. .

I have finally had a few minutes to sit down and reflect on your presentation. It went so smoothly. You were so organized with the various places that we went to, that it made the staff very comfortable with the presentation format and also the website. It was easy for everyone to follow where you were taking them and thus shows that "your baby" has been well nurtured by you. I am hoping for the website to continue to be a catalyst for the staff and students.

At Tuesday evening's School Board meeting, the Superintendent, who watched the presentation was very complimentary about the website potential and also the format of the presentation. At Wednesday afternoon's administrators meeting there were nothing but positive comments again about the presentation format and also the webpage layout, etc. Several of the high school teachers commented that they liked the format. It was a big relief on my part to know that the 300 staff members at the presentation were impressed. .

I held a train-the-trainer session yesterday and the tool was received extremely well by the trainers. They loved it and found it to be extremely useful and are excited to get the word out! .

I would like to thank you and your staff for providing a fine service to the teachers of our county. I realize that the county has bought a two year subscription and it is beyond my control whether that contract is continued despite the fact that I will be encouraging our own teachers to be using the site.

I am truely amazed at the broad scope depth and thoroughness of the design and sheer user friendliness of your site, not to mention the breadth of topic area and correlation of meaningful tangents as well! Well done!

I hear that your staff designs lesson pages that are sent to Teachers that ask for this service. This is another "awsome" feature of the site.

Well I have probably echoed the feelings of countless others.....?

Just thought you would like to know you are appreciated. Thats the collective you for you and your team! .

April 11, 2006: My students started using the website today for their Civil War research. They have found some excellent information so far! The only thing that I would like to see more of is links to Iowa's role in the Civil War. Many of the kids are interested in this topic, and it is a hard one to find information on. I do not expect you to get the links up for this year, but maybe you could find some good resources by the time we do this project next April! Thanks for your help
